在美國，超過1/3女性曾遭受性傷害，其中80%經歷過創傷症候群。某日，美國南方，黑人女孩雷內莎在聚會後被性侵。當她決定開口向外求助，卻發現自己無力地迷失在龐雜的醫療行政與司法系統之中。原本甜蜜穩定的戀愛關係，彷彿受到考驗。本片以極其真實的鏡頭語言，重現許多女性曾被傷害的經歷，反映過程中，女性經受的心理恐懼與無可言說的茫然感。縝密安排的劇情，除了碰觸#MeToo運動所提出的核心問題外，更延伸討論兩性關係、父權體制、不健全的醫療制度，以及美國長久以來的種族問題。在導演精準的敘事表層下，埋藏著一顆顆後勁無窮的震撼彈。

Renesha, a black woman in Austin, is victimized by sexual assault. When she tries to report it, she finds herself lost in the health care and criminal justice system, and unintentionally pushed away by the white partner who has always stood by her side. Part psychological horror, part realist drama, the film is set against the backdrop of our national discussion about an inequitable health system, #MeToo, and race relations in America.
